Women and Family Advancement Initiative invites all African youths, youth organizations, religious youth groups, NGO's, students in tertiary institutions across Africa to a three day African Youths Conference on Millennium Development Goals, with the theme Confronting rape, violence against women and sexual health in Africa: Challenges of African Youths.

AIMS OF THE CONFERENCE:
(1) The International Conference is designed for African Youths as part of activities to mark 2013 United Nations international day for the elimination of Violence against women. It is a Capacity building programme for youths; Participants at the Conference will learn leadership skills, procedures of international dialogue, negotiation skills and resolution drafting.
(2) The International Conference which is first of its kind in Africa will assemble African Youths from different tertiary academic institutions, youth organizations, youths and women focused non- governmental organizations and government ministries across Africa. It will create international forum for Interaction, dialogue and discussion on endemic social vices of sexual violence, violence against women and other anti-family tendencies which have hindered effective Implementations of the Millennium Development Goals in African societies.

AWARDS
As part of activities lined up for the continental event, the international conference will culminate in two awards of excellence tagged "Youths Fellow Award" and "Women Advocate Award". The awards will be given to selected Africans who have distinquished themselves in contributing to youth or women development through programmes and advocacy in Africa. Date of the award is Gala nite: Nov. 27th, at the conference venue.
